Physiotherapy with room to listen

Claire Brayford and her small team treat sore backs, sporting injuries and post-surgical recoveries. Appointments run 45 minutes, so there is time to understand what is going on and agree on a clear plan.

The practice frontage on a quiet Norwood street, with a large plane tree shading the footpath and the front door.

Ground floor, step-free entry, accessible bathroom, and two accessible parking bays at the rear.

What we treat

Six things, done properly, rather than a long list. If what you need is not here, ring us — we would rather point you to the right person than book you in for the sake of it.

  • Musculoskeletal physiotherapy

Low back and neck pain, shoulders that catch overhead, hips and knees that ache on stairs. Assessment, hands-on treatment and a graded loading plan you can keep up at home.

  • Sports injury and rehab

Ankle sprains, hamstring and calf tears, tendon pain from running, and the return-to-play staging in between. Strength testing, running retraining, and a clear sign-off before you go back.

  • Post-surgical rehabilitation

Knee and hip replacements, shoulder repairs, ACL reconstructions and fractures, run to your surgeon's protocol with the milestones written down so you always know what week you are in.

  • Clinical exercise and Pilates

Groups of no more than four, on mats and equipment, supervised by a physiotherapist. Useful once pain has settled and the job is rebuilding strength, control and confidence.

  • Dry needling and manual therapy

Joint mobilisation, soft tissue work and dry needling, used to make movement easier in the short term so the exercise side of the plan can do its work. Always paired with something active.

Part of your treatment plan, not booked alone.

  • Home and aged care visits

Appointments at home or in residential aged care across the eastern suburbs for people who cannot travel easily — balance work, transfers, mobility aids and falls prevention.

Part of your treatment plan, not booked alone.

The people you will actually see

Four physiotherapists, one practice, no rotating locums. You keep the same clinician through a course of treatment unless you would rather change — and if someone else is a better fit for your problem, we will say so.

A treatment room with the plinth made up in cream linen and late afternoon light across the wall.

Every physiotherapist here is registered with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia. Registration number — placeholder for this demo.

  • Claire Brayford

    Owner and principal physiotherapist

BPhysio (Hons), Master of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy

Claire opened the practice in 2015 after a decade in public hospital outpatients. She works mainly with persistent back and neck pain, hips and knees, and with older adults who want to keep walking, gardening and driving. She also runs the practice's manual therapy and dry needling caseload.

  • Daniel Okoye

    Senior physiotherapist, sports and rehabilitation

BPhysio, Graduate Certificate in Sports Physiotherapy

Daniel looks after running injuries, hamstring and calf problems, and shoulder loading for overhead sports. He spends two evenings a week with a local district cricket club, and handles most of our return-to-sport programming.

  • Meera Raghavan

    Physiotherapist, post-surgical and hand therapy

BPhysio, Graduate Diploma in Orthopaedic Rehabilitation

Meera works with people after knee and hip replacements, shoulder repairs and wrist fractures, following the surgeon's protocol closely and translating it into something you can actually do at home between appointments.

  • Tom Ashworth

Physiotherapist, clinical exercise and older adults

    BPhysio, Accredited clinical Pilates practitioner

Tom leads our small clinical exercise and Pilates groups and takes our home and residential aged care visits. He has a particular interest in balance, falls prevention and getting strength back after a long hospital stay.

How your first appointment works

Four steps, in the order they actually happen. Step through them so there are no surprises when you walk in.

Booking

Ring the practice or send the enquiry form. We ask what is bothering you, how long it has been going on, and whether you are claiming through a scheme, because that decides which paperwork to bring. Acute injuries are held early slots most mornings; if we cannot fit you in quickly we will tell you that on the phone rather than leave you waiting.

Reception answers between 7:30 am and 6:00 pm on weekdays. Messages left after hours are returned the next working morning.

Fees and how you can fund treatment

A standard 45 minute appointment is $95 and a follow-up is $85. Fees include GST where applicable — there is no separate surcharge and no card fee. Pick the pathway that applies to you and you will see what to bring and how the claiming works.

Private health insurance extras

No referral needed.

What to bring

  • Your health fund card
  • A form of photo identification
  • A card or account for the gap payment

How claiming works

If your policy includes extras cover for physiotherapy, we can process the claim on the spot through the terminal at reception. Your fund pays its benefit straight away and you pay only the remaining gap. The benefit amount and any annual limit are set by your policy, so it is worth checking your remaining limit before a long course of treatment.

Indicative only, and written for a demonstration site. Scheme rules, benefit amounts and limits change, and what applies to you depends on your own policy, plan or claim. We will confirm the cost with you before treatment starts.

Book an appointment

Send an enquiry and we will come back to you the same working day, usually within a couple of hours. If it is urgent, the phone is faster.

Demo only — nothing is sent or stored.
